If you contracted to have your home built on land that you personal, your basis in the house is your basis within the land plus the amount you paid to have the home constructed. If you constructed all or part of your own home your self, your basis is the total amount it price you to build it. You can’t embrace in basis the value of your personal labor or another labor for which you did not pay. You can’t deduct these quantities as points either in the 12 months paid or over the life of the mortgage.
